The Facilities Department plans, designs, builds and maintains Orange County Public Schools buildings to ensure students have safe, comfortable, efficient facilities for successful learning.
OCPS has one of the largest and most successful construction programs in the United States. Through the 2024-25 school year, the district has built 68 new schools and has renovated or replaced 134 schools (with three more to be completed by 2027).
This long-term construction plan is possible thanks to the half-cent sales tax voters approved in 2003 and extended in 2014, plus residential development impact fees. CPS has future school sites in many high-growth areas. Click here to see them on a map.
Our team includes about 400 employees in Maintenance, Grounds and Pest Control and about 1,200 workers in Custodial Services.
