Diploma Deferment Options
Students are able to defer the receipt of their High School diploma to pursue or complete one of the diploma deferment options outlined below.

- Accelerated college credit programs, as described in s. 1007.27(1), F.S., include dual enrollment and early admission, advanced placement, credit by examination, the International Baccalaureate program and the Advanced International Certificate of Education program.

- Collegiate high school programs are required by s. 1007.273, F.S., to provide, at a minimum, an option for public school students in grade 11 or grade 12 participating in the program for at least one full school year to earn Career and Professional Education industry certifications and complete 30 credit hours through dual enrollment toward the first year of college for an associate or baccalaureate degree.
Orange Technical College
High School Based ProgramsValencia Orange Technical College offers several career dual enrollment programs located on the high school campus. Students are able to dual enroll to pursue an industry certification and a career certificate.
Students will need to be enrolled in the OTC dual enrollment program within the first 5 weeks of school.Valencia College awards credits to eligible students who have completed certain career certificate programs through Orange Technical College.
Students will have to follow the guidelines for admissions and upon approval, meet with an academic advisor.

Gold Standard Career Pathways Industry Certification Articulation Agreements Valencia College Career Pathways Credit Statewide Career and Technical Education Articulation Agreements are intended to provide articulated college credit based on industry certifications earned to expand opportunities for postsecondary degrees and certificates.

A structured work-study program is any program that is designed to prepare the student for employment. Programs would normally include instruction in basic employment competencies, social skills and job search skills, and provide one or more work experiences, which may include supported employment.
