Florida Transition organizations

    The Central Florida Interagency Council (CFIC) works to support the development of transition for individuals with unique abilities in Central Florida by promoting successful outcomes for independent living, employment, and educational goals.

    The purpose of the Florida Division on Career Development and Transition (FDCDT) is to promote the career development of individuals with exceptionalities in order to bring about effective programs of career awareness, career exploration, career preparation, and transition from school to work and community living for these individuals from early childhood through adulthood.  Additionally FDCDT encourages and promotes professional growth, research, legislation, and dissemination of information among Florida individuals and organizations concerned with and involved in career development and transition of people with exceptionalities.

    Project 10: Transition Education Network, assists in  building capacity to provide secondary transition services to students with disabilities in order to improve their academic success and post-school outcomes. Project 10 serves as the primary conduit between the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), specifically the Bureau of Exceptional Student Education (BESE), and relevant school district personnel in addressing law and policy, effective practices, and research-based interventions in the area of transition services for youth with disabilities.
