Emergency Response Actions

The Standard Response Protocol for emergency protective actions addressed in OCPS emergency procedure manuals has been in effect since 2015. After years of real-life experiences, the district has integrated new revised protocols into its procedures which are outlined below. (Feb. 2021)

  • Emergency safety instructions for students and adults in a school setting. The sign instructs people to stay in their rooms or areas and clear the hallways.

    STUDENTS

    • Clear the hallways and remain in room or area until the "All Clear" is announced
    • Do business as usual

    ADULTS

    • Close and lock classroom door
    • Account for students and adults
    • Do business as usual
