Building Code Compliance

Building Code Compliance

Responsibility for building code compliance services within OCPS has transitioned to the Facilities Services Department. All permitting, plan reviews, inspections, and occupancy certifications are now performed using a third-party vendor. MGO Connect will remain the primary designated platform for permitting and administering these services.

Permit Status and Inspection Requests

  • All previously issued permits remain valid and active
  • Inspection requests under existing permits should continue to be submitted via MGO Connect, following established procedures

Permit Applications and Resubmissions

  • Master permit applications that were previously rejected should be revised in accordance with prior comments and resubmitted
  • Contractors who believe their original submission was sufficient may resubmit for review by the successor building official

New Projects and Permit Structure

  • New projects will be issued a single building permit. Subordinate permits will no longer be required or issued. All inspections will be conducted under the single permit number. The updated permit application form is available below.

Existing Projects and Subcontractor Permits

  • Projects with previously issued subcontractor permits will continue to operate under those permits until further notice
  • Permit holders are responsible for approving any subcontractor work added to their scope. All subcontractors must be registered in MGO, and a defined scope of work must be submitted for review.
Certificates of Construction Completion (CoCC)

No action is needed to request a Certificates of Construction Completion (CoCCs). Once all inspection steps have been completed and closed, the system automatically notifies the Building Official that the CoCC is ready for processing.

Design Revisions and Approvals

RFI responses, PRs, and ASIs no longer require approval from the Building Official or the Office of the Fire Marshal. These documents must be issued and, when applicable, signed and sealed by the responsible architect or engineer. All such documentation must be maintained on-site and readily available for review by inspectors during inspections.

Accessing MGO Connect

Contractors and subcontractors who have not yet registered with MGO Connect must create an account before submitting new permit applications or accessing existing permits.
